About Us

Serving the Community for 49 Years!

Galway Ambulance Corps started in January 01, 1967 when Providence and Galway split into two separate agencies. There were 42 charter members whose primary purpose was to provide emergency medical care to the sick and injured, transportation to a medical facility, and ongoing education in the community for the towns of Galway, Perth and Charlton. We moved into our new building on July 13, 2003 and changed our name to Galway Emergency Medical Services. In 2004 our agency achieved full ALS (Advanced Life Support) status, offering critical life-saving interventions to those presenting with different maladies. Today we continue to provide this advanced care at the Paramedic level.

Our membership, both volunteers and paid employees consist of drivers, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Advanced Life Support Paramedics. As a team we provide the highest level of pre-hospital patient care on a 24 hour a day basis 7 days a week

We serve a combined population of over 6,500. Our district includes the Town of Galway, Galway Village, Galway Lake, Northern section of Charlton and the Town of Providence. Our district is serviced from our station located just west of the Village of Galway at 2175 Galway Road. Our front line apparatus includes two advanced life support ambulances. Our agency works in conjunction with Galway Volunteer Fire Company, Charlton Fire Department, West Charlton Fire Company, Harmony Corners Fire Company, Providence Fire Department, Saratoga County Sheriff's Department, New York State Police, Galway Village Police Department and many other surrounding agencies..
